I genuinely thought I must have misunderstood her.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou are deliberately trying to tempt my husband?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n

She rolled her eyes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not trying to tempt him. I\u2019m testing whether he can be tempted. There\u2019s a difference.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNot as much of one as you seem to think.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf he fails,\u201d she continued, \u201cthat\u2019s his fault. Not mine. I\u2019m literally just existing. If your marriage can\u2019t survive a towel, then maybe the marriage is the problem.\u201d<\/p>\n

I stared at my sister.<\/p>\n

This was the girl whose scraped knees I had cleaned when we were children.<\/p>\n
