Daniel waited until the others were hauling their suitcases toward the entrance before making one last attempt.<\/p>\n

I looked at him.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, Daniel. You chose my house over your wife.\u201d<\/p>\n

The doorbell rang.<\/p>\n

My attorney, Maya Chen, stood outside with a locksmith and a private security officer.<\/p>\n

She had been advising me since the first suspicious banking inquiry three days earlier.<\/p>\n

Maya handed Daniel an envelope.<\/p>\n
