The hospital faded in my rearview mirror while Nora slept beside me, finally going home after thirteen days in the NICU.<\/p>\n

He kissed my forehead before leaving that evening and told me he would call in the morning.<\/p>\n

By noon, my messages were unread.<\/p>\n

By evening, his phone went directly to voicemail.<\/p>\n

The following morning, I drove to his apartment.<\/p>\n

Half his closet was empty.<\/p>\n
