Rosie clapped and smiled at him.<\/p>\n

I nodded, warmth spreading through my chest before I understood what it meant.<\/p>\n

The years blended together the way happy years often do.<\/p>\n

Ben rode his bicycle to our house almost every afternoon.<\/p>\n

My mother tolerated him.<\/p>\n

My father barely glanced up from his newspaper when Ben entered.<\/p>\n
