\u201cYou let her destroy Noah\u2019s room,\u201d I said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI reorganized the house.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMadison needed space. Noah is a child. He can sleep anywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

Noah lowered his head.<\/p>\n

In that moment, I stopped seeing Daniel as the man I had married and started seeing someone my son needed protection from.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy sister is waiting outside,\u201d I said. \u201cWe\u2019re leaving.\u201d<\/p>\n

Daniel laughed. \u201cYou are not taking him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Daniel instantly changed his tone. He spoke gently and claimed I was emotional and trying to steal our son after a small argument. I showed the officers the photographs, our packed bags, and the divorce petition.<\/p>\n

Daniel struck back immediately.<\/p>\n

He froze our joint bank account, canceled my credit card, and sent messages threatening to report me for kidnapping. Melissa documented every one of them.<\/p>\n

She even included a picture of herself standing in Noah\u2019s former bedroom.<\/p>\n
