Behind the page was a photocopied bank statement with Daniel\u2019s name on it.<\/p>\n

I read that line three separate times before he asked whether the letter said who had sent it.<\/p>\n

I jerked it away as though it had burned me.<\/p>\n

That was when his expression shifted.<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t see worry, relief, or curiosity.<\/p>\n
