Only minutes earlier, the dining room had been warm with candles, food, and holiday decorations. Now it looked like a carefully preserved scene\u2014half-carved turkey, untouched pies, abandoned plates, and chairs pushed away from the table.<\/p>\n

Officer Ramirez asked everyone to remain in separate areas.<\/p>\n

Margaret protested.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy daughter-in-law is having an emotional episode, and you\u2019re behaving as though I committed a crime.\u201d<\/p>\n
