The beach became silent.<\/p>\n

I held my son closer and looked at her calmly.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou let me walk out here like this!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI did not enter my bedroom without permission. I did not take someone else\u2019s dress, and I did not put it on you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her phone continued buzzing with notifications.<\/p>\n

Diane looked at the screen, and her face tightened with humiliation.<\/p>\n
