I glanced at the clock hanging on the attorney\u2019s office wall. It was 10:21 in the morning.<\/p>\n

My ex-husband, Mark Vance, remained seated across from me, scrolling through his phone as casually as though he had just finished an ordinary business meeting. He hadn\u2019t even put the cap back on his pen before making a call.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Mark spent less and less time with Sophia and Maya.<\/p>\n

One evening, Maya was coloring at the kitchen island when she suddenly looked up at me.<\/p>\n
