My Husband Left Me And Our Seven Sons For My Sister Until Our Oldest Son Sent Him A Wedding Gift He Would Never Forget

My husband ended our eighteen-year marriage somewhere between dinner and bath time.

I was standing at the kitchen counter cutting apples into little half-moons for Ben, our two-year-old, because apparently apples only taste acceptable to him when they’re shaped correctly.

The house was loud.

Two of the older boys were arguing over the bathroom.

Ben had woken up upstairs and was crying.

Sam and Leo were fighting over the television remote.

Our dog, Biscuit, was barking at absolutely nothing.

Daniel listened to all of it.

Then he said,

“I’m tired.”

“Tired of what?”

“This.”

He gestured toward the noise.
